York Region Centralized Consultation and Assessment Service

In partnership with the Blue Hills Child and Family Centre, Youthdale provides a York Region Centralized Consultation and Assessment Service (YRCCAS) for children and families in York Region.

The YRCCAS is a single point of access to a team of child specialists working together to identify the strengths and needs of each child and support their primary caregivers with practical plans of care and guidance with their implementation.

Children referred for assessment are seen by a child psychiatrist, and psychology, neuropsychology, neurology, speech and language, and social work specialists may be involved as appropriate. A community outreach worker is available to meet with children and caregivers in their homes at intake and during follow-up.

The clinical team will provide specific recommendations to help the child’s functioning at home, in school, and in the community. The team will be available for follow-up consultation and to check the effectiveness of its recommendations and suggest adjustments as the child's circumstances change.

Children's service agencies funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services in York Region may refer to the YRCCAS.
