Speakers include:

Symposium Chair: Dr. Paul Sandor

Dr. Peter Szatmari, Chedoke Health Corporation Chair in Child Psychiatry; Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University; and Director, Offord Centre for Child Studies

Dr. Szatmari is known for his writings on Aspergers genetics, infant studies, and PET and MRI studies. He is also known for his diagnostic criteria for Asperger syndrome. Dr. Szatmari helped to set up the Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) team at Chedoke Child and Family Centre, a regional diagnostic and treatment program for children with a PDD diagnosis, in Hamilton, Ontario. Dr. Szatmari is currently part of the Autism Genome Project.

Dr. Evdokia Anagnostou, Clinician Scientist, Bloorview Research Institute; Assistant Professor, Department of Paediatrics, University of Toronto

Dr. Anagnostou is a child neurologist, currently working as a clinician scientist at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, and as lead investigator of the Autism Research Centre at Bloorview Research Institute. Her research is focused on randomized clinical trials examining how medications affect the core symptoms of autism, as well as understanding the neurobiology of autism.

Dr. Doron Almagor, Medical Director, The ADHD Clinic, Psychiatrist, Toronto Western Hospital's Tourette's Syndrome Clinic and Consulting Staff, Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH)

Dr. Almagor is the Past President of the Ontario Psychiatric Association (OPA), has served as the Chair of the Psychotherapy section of the OPA, currently serves on the executive of the OMA Psychiatry Section, and is a board member of CADDRA (The Canadian Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Resource Alliance).
