Live-In Treatment Programs

Youthdale’s Live-In Treatment programs are offered in home-like residences in Toronto. The programs provide intensive treatment and support for children and youth age 12—18 who have acute and highly complex mental health needs, and their families.

Individualized treatment plans are established with the client and their family/guardian beginning prior to admission and reviewed at regular intervals until service is completed. As determined by need, clients have access to the clinical resources available within Youthdale, or through referral to community experts.

Treatment is milieu-based, trauma-informed, incorporating Dialectical and Cognitive Behavioural skill development approaches, as well as individual and family therapies. During their stay, some clients may also be registered in the Youthdale Day Treatment program or continue to attend a community school.

Children and youth typically remain in the treatment residence for about not more than a year, although this may vary in relation to the child or youth’s specific needs, family context, and housing availability in the broader community.
