Client/Caregiver Ontario Perception of Care (OPOC) Survey Results

The Ontario Perception of Care (OPOC) is a tool designed and validated by the Centre of Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH). The tool aims to measure the perception of care of clients attending an agency from 8 perspectives grouped into 38 statements.


Summary of Results

Over a 12 month period (from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022), 33 clients and 18 caregivers completed the OPOC questionnaire.

Why use OPOC?

OPOC is a validated tool used by many agencies across Ontario. Accreditation Canada accepts this tool to measure the clients’ perception of care.

Questions specific to clients’ experience cover the following areas:

  • Participation/Rights

  • Therapists, Staff, Support Workers

  • Environment Discharge, Program Completion, Treatment

  • Overall Experience

  • Inpatient/Live-In Treatment Services
